VAN DER WEYDEN (1400 - 1464)

Rogier van der Weyden (1400-1464) était un des peintres réputéde la moitier du 15 siècle.

Son style de protrait serein et aristocratique fut beaucoup imité, influençant l'art Nord européen jusqu'à la fin du 15eme.

Ce célèbre portrait serait celui de Marie de Valengin, fille illégitime de Philippe le Bon de Burgundy.

 

Rogier van der Weyden (1400-1464) was the leading Netherlandish painter of the mid-fifteenth century.
His often serene and aristocratic portraits were much imitated, influencing North European art until the end of the century.
This famous portrait is believed to be of Marie de Valengin, illegitimate daughter of Philip the Good of Burgundy.
